LISTEN
Selected excerpts from Julia Seibert’s classical guitar repertoire, from baroque works to romantic and atmospheric salon music.

IN RESIDENCE
The contemporary salon
In Julia’s hands, the salon tradition takes on a modern edge through fully memorised classical guitar performances shaped by the mood of the room. Her programmes can unfold across an entire evening, bringing concert repertoire and original arrangements into the intimacy of the guitar.
The effect could be called social listening: not a formal recital, but not mere background music either. Her playing sits somewhere between the two, enhancing conversation and carrying the room in quieter moments.
Julia gives classical music a social function again. By returning an old and distinguished tradition to the modern era, she places music at the heart of social life and lets each gathering become part of that lineage.
Music in the Salon Tradition
In the European salon tradition, music was not separate from social life. It belonged to rooms, conversations, dinners and parties, a marker of taste and cultural fluency.
Long before the guitar entered the modern concert hall, it moved through the private worlds of European culture: from the court of Louis XIV to Parisian salons, Viennese drawing rooms and the Schubertiades, where the instrument’s nuance could be enjoyed up close.

ABOUT
Julia Seibert is an award-winning classical guitarist from Germany based in London.
She came up through the conventional world of conservatoires and concerts, studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and Trinity Laban in London, where she completed her Master’s with Distinction and received the Strings Department’s medal for highest achievement. Her work has also been recognised with several prizes for artistic excellence.
Born in Istanbul and educated in Washington, D.C., Julia has over a decade of performance experience and works across several languages. Her repertoire spans Bach, Vivaldi, Chopin, Schubert, Piazzolla and beyond, often in her own arrangements for solo guitar.
She performs entirely from memory, with over five hours of repertoire available for private and cultural settings. Her playing has been described as “intimate and sincere,” with “an understated but powerful presence,” capable of “conveying things beyond words.”
In 2025, she premiered Concerto Arabesco, a work dedicated to her by composer Andrés Miranda.
